What We Resist, Persists

By Lisa Markham (BodyWay Coach)

Have you ever noticed that what you resist, seems to persist?

I have been reflecting on my life and how I resisted being fat for years, by going on diets and exercise programs, and self help magic formulas.  But guess what always persisted?  Me being fat, no matter how hard I dieted.  I might get myself down to what I thought was a good weight, but within a blink of an eye, my weight would balloon back in quarter the time it took to lose it.

When we run, fight, ignore, avoid, fix, rationalize, judge or intellectualize the perceived and/or real “fat” on our bodies, we reinforce it. This is because ..

“We can not ever solve a problem with the same consciousness we used to create the problem.  We must learn to see the world anew.”– Albert Einstein

The only way to stop the rat race is to face it and bring your awareness into the body, because your body is the subconscious mind.  It holds the beliefs, trauma states, internal conflicts, feeling and innate wisdoms necessary to evolve your consciousness to a new level.

And once this new level of consciousness is created, your brain begins to perceive that perhaps there was no problem to begin with, that instead you are a healthy, vibrant, alive individual.  What this does is allow you actions and thoughts to then become more congruent with this new level of consciousness.   A consciousness that is without an eating disorder.

BodyWay is teaching you the foundational work to make this happen.
